Aberrant cell cycle

Aberrant cell cycle re-entry may also play a role in non-immune mechanisms of muscle damage. It has been shown that aberrant cell-cycle reentry occurs in PM and IBM, and is associated with presence of Amyloid beta, which is also upregulated in PM. [1]
